Non-Surgical Spinal Traction

What is Non-Surgical Spinal TractionTherapy?

Disc disorders can produce significant, often debilitating pain.

Traction Therapy is the best non-surgical and conservative procedure for patients suffering with:

  • Bulging Or Herniated Discs
  • Degenerative Disc Disease
  • Posterior Facet Syndrome
  • Sciatica
  • Failed Back Surgery Syndrome
  • And Non-Specified Mechanical Low Back Or Neck Pain Resulting In Spinal Stenosis

A HUGE benefit of Disc Disorder Therapy is that it prevents the return of the disorder by strengthening and stabilizing the supportive tissues surrounding the disc and vertebrae using specific rehab protocols for disc disorders.

This therapy is particularly effective at reducing the pressure on the degenerating disc and re-hydrating the disc and thus increasing its ability to be a shock absorber to help reduce pain and inflammation.

How Does Non-Surgical Spinal Traction Therapy Work?

Disc Disorder Therapy reduces disc pain through the use of topical analgesics, biopharmaceutical pain relieving injections, and spinal traction.

Traction: Spinal traction is a lot less severe than it sounds! This technique can remove pain causing pressure on the disc and nerves.  Its great for patients with neck pain that runs down the arms or low back pain that runs into the gluts, groin or leg.

Spinal traction is also the least invasive form of treatment for disc injuries AND it is the most cost-effective treatment for herniated and degenerated spinal discs—one of the major causes of back pain and neck pain.

Spinal traction works on the affected spinal segment by significantly reducing intradiscal pressure and creating a vacuum effect on the herniated tissue. This natural vacuum retracts the extruded disc material and thus takes the pressure off the pinched-nerve whilst reducing inflammation at the same time.

In addition, the vacuum effect will often increase the spacing between the vertebra and rehydrate the involved discs, allowing even more room for the nerve.

As the disc rehydrates, its shock absorbing capabilities are restored, reducing mechanical stress on the related structures (facet joints and supporting ligamentous tissues) slowing or halting the osteoarthritic damage.
